There is no describing what is going on with the American beauty pageants. Miss California gives an honest answer to a bogus questions – Miss America’s have nothing to do with politics and a political question is uncalled for – and now she has to deal with the liberal hatred. Why can’t the liberals be tolerant of our belief’s?
From the L.A. Times:
Shanna Moakler, the executive director Miss California USA, resigned today in the wake of controversy over current title holder Carrie Prejean, who was told by pageant owner Donald Trump she could keep her crown.
Ms. Moakler gave an interview to US magazine:
"Since the press conference yesterday, I had a chance to think about what has taken place, and I feel that at this time it is in my
best interest to resign from the Miss California USA organization," Moakler tells US.
"I cannot with a clear conscious move forward supporting and promoting the Miss Universe Organization when I no longer believe in it, or the contracts I signed committing myself as a youth," she continues. "I want to be a role model for young woman with high hopes of pageantry, but now feel it more important to be a role model for my children. I am sorry and hope I have not let any young supporters down but wish them the best of luck in fulfilling their dreams."
What kind of role model is she being to her kids? She’s telling them that if you disagree with the liberals you will be hounding and people will lose respect for you. This is called brainwashing.
So what is all this over?
Prejean, 21, first ignited controversy at the April 19 pageant when she told judge Perez Hilton that she believed marriage should be between only a man and a woman, igniting a cultural debate. The runner-up said her answer cost her the crown.
How dare she say something against the liberal ideology. But don’t worry folks, While Ms. Moakler is criticizing Ms. Prejean’s right to freedom of expression she will be exercising her own rights.
Prejean later announced that she’ll be launching a campaign opposing gay marriage with the National Organization for Marriage. Shortly after, Moakler announced she was appearing in new ad supporting gay rights. She shot a print ad April 28 slamming Proposition 8, the initiative that bans gay marriage in California.
Think as I think, or be destroyed! I feel like the Borg is trying to assimilate all of us. As Stu would probably say, “Let the cat fight begin”.

Shanna Moakler is concerned about being an example to her kids? REALLY?!
I guess that’s why she’s provided such a stable home life with their father.
Oh wait…
Wasn’t most of the controversy due to the fact that she exposed her breasts on camera then lied about it in the contract she had to sign with the Miss America Pageant? Another woman in the pageant lost her crown for the same thing.
The only reason she got to keep her crown was because of the controversy her answer generated and the fact that Trump felt sympathetic towards her because of it.
“Another woman in the pageant lost her crown for the same thing.”
Vanessa Williams?
Rae,
No..it was Miss Nevada.
And to be fair..I saw Miss Nevada’s pictures that she got kicked out for, and they were in far worse taste than Miss California’s were IMO.
I think these pageant people should resign themselves to the fact that if these women are so willing to have their bodies gawked at on TV..they probably have naked pics somewhere ready to be exposed. It’s just reality.
@Elizabeth: Ah. Shows what I know. :-3 I only know that Vanessa Williams lost her crown because of some nekkid pictures back in the 80s or something.
COLORS OF THE WIND BEACHES!
The pictures don’t matter in this case. Ms. Moakler didn’t resign because of them, she resigned because of Miss California’s political opinions.
And about the pictures – the reason it wasn’t a big deal is because the picture’s were never professionally published (which is why TMZ were the first one’s to post them – because they were actually handed to them by someone)and the questionaire she filled out asked if any inappropriate pictures had ever been “published” not “taken”. She didn’t lie. Anyway – the majority of them were taken before she was 18 years old, so even if those were published, it still wouldn’t matter because they would have been illegally published and being a minor she cannot be held legally accountable. (she could have an abortion without parents knowing about it – but can’t be held accountable for contracts signed – oi vey!)
(The info about the pictures is what I have been reading in the papers – I believe it to be accurate, but new info may have come forth.)
Also, the person who gave the pics to TMZ (I think that is right mag.) admitted that it was done because of her comments and not because she won Miss California or was runner up in Miss America pagent. So, the comments she said are still the #1 issue IMO.
