They go through the top 10 things to do for safer use. #’s 1-8 talk about the actual use of Heroin – they wait until # 9 to tell users to get help for depression and # 10 to tell users to stop using. Don’t you think those should have been the first 2 if they are serious about helping users? Wouldn’t it be more beneficial to say those things before going into the complete details of how to prepare and shoot up the drug?

A New York City-funded guidebook for heroin users offers information on how to prepare drugs carefully and care for veins to avoid infection.
The state’s top official with the Drug Enforcement Administration calls the “Take Charge Take Care” guide a “step-by-step instruction on how to inject a poison.” DEA special agent-in-charge John Gilbride says the handout is disturbing.
The city’s Department of Health and Mental Hygiene printed about 70,000 copies.
A health official says the goal is to promote health and save lives. Assistant Commissioner Daliah Heller says instructions on how to perform injections were included because there’s “a less harmful way to inject.”
The illustrated guidebook offers information on HIV testing and the dangers of sharing needles.
Since Heroine isn’t always administered to the self and is sometimes used to drug people for various reasons against their will why stop there? Since we are going to make the administration of Heroin safer lets make the administration of the penis safer. I see nothing wrong with making sure sexual predators get free condoms. We can tell them that we know they are going to do it anyway, so they may as well be safe. Isn’t that the best way?
Or is that the best way to keep people dependant on a system? You start with the weakest links and work your way up. It’s worked for the liberals so far, why not continue on that path? Heroine users are the drudge of society, anyway. There’s no need to waste money on the rehabilitation when printing out ‘how to’ pamphlets is so cheep. They’ll kill themselves off and then the liberals won’t have to worry about them anymore.

Why should we do it? Why don’t we just give them a loaded gun and tell them to go play Russian Roulette?
It’s one of the signs of what is wrong with this country right now. There is no such thing as taking responsibility for your actions any more. If you want to get doped up on Heroin or crack -then that is your business but don’t expect me to come to your aid when you are too stupid to change needles, this ain’t my problem. I know it sounds harsh – but we can’t keep allowing bad behavior like this. In the LONG run it doesn’t do these people any favors.
You know what heroin does to the body. How is it better for them to help them take the drug than it is to hand them the loaded weapon and tell them to pull the trigger?
I know to you it sounds cold harded – but this is the difference between society taking care of everyone and society telling everyone to take responsibility. If it feels good do it mentality is slowly killing us and I’m sick and tired of being the drug supplier to the people who choose that lifestyle.
