I wanted to share with everyone a song that my Grandpa used to sing for us every Christmas. He passed away almost 20 years ago and the only recording we had was from a basic tape cassette recorder from the early to mid 1980′s. Thanks to Stu’s knowledge in recording in the year 2000 he was able to clean it up a bit so we could hear over the static and the years of damage (it still has some background noise to it that he couldn’t clean up). The song is titled “Santa Claus & the Mouse”. Grandpa knew this song because of the years he harassed his Uncle (?) to sing it to him. Other than that, I don’t think we know who wrote the song.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio: Funniest Cop in the World
I just love Sheriff Joe Arpaio… Mostly because I am not an inmate! He makes prisoners wear pink, eat bologna sandwiches, work and pipes in Christmas music. All of which gets him sued… repeatedly.
Now I could understand the Christmas music lawsuit if he is playing the chipmunks Christmas album (I’d choose a good old fashion water boarding first), but otherwise it it no different than working at a store and hearing Christmas songs all day. Though I know at least one of our readers might think this is a pure torture, I just don’t think so…
Below is the news story and I wonder how many of those 8,000 inmates will be back next year for more Christmas festivities?
PHOENIX – Sheriff Joe Arpaio has ordered that Christmas music be played throughout the Maricopa County jail system — despite the fact that several inmates have filed lawsuits and grievances.
Christmas Plays are “out”
The Catholic League has their list of distasteful Christmas plays that are running this year. It is kinda funny that the same people who scream we should not say
“Christmas” in public have no problems using the name in the title of their plays. But I digress…….
What surprises me the most is the many attacks on Mary. For people who complain that religion is misogynistic they certainly have no problems bashing one of the Great women in the Bible. Ironic, huh? But, again, I digress.
Some of the plays that the Catholic League is complaining about I really don’t see any reason to be complaining too much based on the descriptions of these plays.
There is “Naked Holidays 2009” which is described as “a gleeful pageant filled with indulgent tidings.” It’s distasteful, but in America this kind of distasteful productions are okay based on freedom of speech.
2 letters to Jesus – Which will you send?
Dear Jesus,
I write this with a saddened heart. I feel I must explain to you that we are no longer allowed to recognize you on your birthday. Sure, we can celebrate your day in 
private but we are not allowed to utter your name or show your likeness anytime in public anymore, especially in the month of December.
I am aware that you are the King of Kings, but there is a new King around and he isn’t as old as you are which means he knows how we want to live not how we should live. King Secular has decided that to teach others about your life will make them feel left out and offended and he says this would be wrong. As followers of You, we have to be respectful of other religions even though they make fun and ridicule You and Your family. King Secular has said that You are obsolete during this Holiday Season because the very utterance of your name and likeness will be too offensive to those that do not know you.
Giving Tree Banned – Update
UPDATE: The Catholic League is reporting that the Principal is going to put the giving tree back up in the school, however she has said it must be modified so it doesn’t favor any particular religion. Exactly how do you do that? Remove the tags suggesting people ‘give’? Because that is the part that is the spirit of Christmas, not the tree.

No Christmas during Christmas time! If you think that statement is ridiculous wait until you hear this one – No giving during Christmas. At least, that is the message that students in an elementary school in Oregon are hearing:
The principal of an elementary school in Ashland, Ore., has removed a holiday giving tree from the school after several families complained it was a religious symbol.

Offend 72% of Americans during the holidays
It’s that time again, and I have been refraining from doing my usual Holiday posts that show that the Atheists want only their religion to be shown and be damned to anything called ‘tolerance’. I’m usually attacked by the usual ‘no religion’ bla bla on public property – even though one of the biggest offenses doesn’t even happen on public property.
Rasmussen did a poll on how many people like to see the phrase “Merry Christmas” in shopping centers (which are not public property).
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 72% of adults prefer “Merry Christmas,” while 22% like “Happy Holidays” instead.
Ninety-one percent (91%) of Republicans and 70% of adults not affiliated with either major political party like store signs that wish them a “Merry Christmas,” compared to just 58% of Democrats.
Last year, 68% of all adults wanted holiday signs to read “Merry Christmas,” while 25% preferred “Happy Holidays.”
