Senate Health care bill in Critical Condition

I’m not convinced that the Senate Health care bill is going to go anywhere considering the evidence that it is unconstitutional and will cost a lot money.

Two key issues seem to be attracting the bulk of the legal threats: a mandate for individuals to purchase health insurance and the special treatment that states like Nebraska are getting in the bill….

pinkyBrain The Constitution allows Congress to tax, borrow, spend, declare war, raise an army and regulate commerce, among other things….

Even though Obama argues that the mandate is similar to laws requiring drivers to obtain auto insurance, opponents cite several key differences. First, the auto insurance mandate is avoidable, since anyone who doesn’t want to pay doesn’t have to drive. Second, auto insurance is mandated in large part so that drivers carry liability insurance to cover damages to other people and cars — not themselves. Third, auto insurance regulation occurs at the state level

The Nutty Congressman and the laws

I love it when the politicians don’t even know the laws of the land.  Freedom of Speech is our protected right and it doesn’t matter if the congress people like what is said or not:

Central Florida Rep. Alan Grayson said wants the U.S. Attorney General to investigate a Web site aimed at unseating him.

Grayson has filed a complaint with Attorney General Eric Holder over the site “My Congressman Is Nuts.”

The Web site launched earlier in the year by Angie Langley, an activist in Lake County.

According to the Sentinel, Grayson wants Langley fined and put in jail.

Langlely said her lawyers have told her the complaint was “groundless.”

His grounds for the complaint?  He claims she does not live in his district.  She said that she does live in his district.  My guess – he probably doesn’t even know what his district consist of.

Pushing their religion on me

Well, here we go again.  They are pushing their religion on us.  It’s getting very old and isn’t it unconstitutional to force their religion on me and deny me my right to my belief’s?

The nation’s largest group of atheists and agnostics filed a lawsuit Tuesday seeking to block an architect from engraving "In God We Trust" and the Pledge of Allegiance at the Capitol Visitor Center in Washington.Nogod-1

The Madison-based Freedom From Religion Foundation’s lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in western Wisconsin, claims the taxpayer-funded engravings would be an unconstitutional endorsement of religion…..

"In God We Trust" has been the national motto since 1956 and has appeared on U.S. currency since 1957.

Engraving them at the entrance to the U.S. Capitol would discriminate against those who do not practice religion and unfairly promote a Judeo-Christian perspective, it says.

Like It or Not God Is In Your State

HisMan is a fellow blogger fighting against the culture of death.  One way to fight thisPICT4177 is to remember that Separation of Church and State doesn’t mean the removal of God in our public lives.  It means that we have the freedom to worship in public without fear of the Government trying to control us.  Well, the Government is now controlling us – a complete violation of our Country and State Constitutions.
