Rep. Bob Etheridge: Assaults a College Student

Ok seriously, you’d figure it would be the other way around, but Congressman Bob Etheridge (NC-2nd), Democrat, assaulted a college student who was asking him a question. Worse, he did it on camera.

I agree that you have a right to know who is questioning you, but you have no right to grab someone and intimidate them. I don’t care if it was an obvious setup by a conservative trying to make your look bad. That’s their right to make you look dumb, just don’t fall for it. Then smile and move on.

This is an example of why I think we need 536 NEW people to represent us. So smile congressman, you’re on camera… You should have learned that everybody has a camera.

What’s your thoughts?

NY Times/CBS News poll don’t match up to reality

It is so funny.  We keep hearing it.  The tea partiers are just a bunch of old, rich, white men.  Yet, somehow no one can provide photographic evidence of this when pictures of tea party rallies show more than 10 people.  The NY Times proudly states:

A New York Times/CBS News poll of backers of the emerging Tea Party movement shows that its supporters are more affluent and better educated than the general public. They tend to be white, male, and married. They are loyal Republicans, with conservative opinions on a variety of issues.

Strange thing is, when you read the poll results beneath that statement their is nothing on the demographics of the tea party members.  I can’t figure out where they get that from considering most independent polls have shown the only people outside of the tea party political opinions are the Liberal Democrats:

Tea Party stat-1

The Republicans promise a no “pork” diet | Democrats promise to Spend on bigger government

image The Republicans in congress have agreed to not seek any earmarks or pork projects for their districts, where Democrats have said they won’t seek earmarks for “private companies”. So we have the republicans pulling an election year stunt and the democrats respond by saying “we will just spend the money in grants to local governments”…. who will in turn spend it with private contractors.

I don’t believe the republicans promise will last longer than the election and the democrats  really need a new PR person… The “not on private business” line is pretty stupid.

The republican and democratic parties have racked up 12 trillion in debt and with 1 trillion plus deficits coming for the foreseeable future, why should I believe either party is serious? The only thing good about this is at least until November the spending will be slowed some.

What are your thoughts?

WOW! Senator Evan Bayh Not Running Again

Senator Evan Bayh (D-IN) won’t seek re-election. According to FoxNews:

Democratic Sen. Evan Bayh will not seek re-election this year, Fox News has learned.

The two-term Indiana senator is known as a moderate Democrat. His retirement gives Republicans yet another opportunity to pick up a seat in a year when several incumbent Democrats are considered vulnerable.

Former GOP Sen. Dan Coats had been planning to challenge Bayh in November.

This is pretty wild,Senator Dan Coats didn’t seek re-election because he didn’t want to face Bayh, who was a popular 2 term Governor of Indiana and the son of a popular Senator (Birch Bayh).

Simply put, this is gearing up to be a complete flip of congress and the senate. I don’t claim that this is “America wants republicans movement”, but it is a complete rejection of what our government has become.

The Dems are showing their true colors

The Dems are consistently telling the Republican group that all they want is for women to be barefoot and pregnant and they don’t want women to think for themselves.  Well, that just isn’t the case and many democrats are beginning to show that it is indeed their side that wants to repress women.

Bachman First we had the horrible display of anti-female treatment from the dems towards Hillary Clinton when it was decided that a (light skinned non negro speaking) male would do a better job and they needed Clinton out of the picture.  Then there was the horrible display of Palin bashing where they didn’t just bash her politics as much as they bashed her sexuality and they consistently told her she needed to stay home and raise her kids (especially that atrocity of a son, Trig, whom she allowed to live knowing he had Downs Syndrome).  Well, now we have a successful working woman who not only raised her 5 children but helped to give a good home to 23 foster children.  And the dems are beginning to hate her just as much as they hate Palin.

The new Negro Dialect of D.C.

Once again the left is showing their extreme hypocrisy.  It is getting quite pathetic.  In a book wrote by Mark Halperin and John Heilemann it says this about Harry Reid:

"He [Reid] was wowed by Obama’s oratorical gifts and believed that the country was ready to embrace a black presidential candidate, especially one such as Obama – a ‘light-skinned’ African American ‘with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one,’ as he said privately. Reid was convinced, in fact, that Obama’s race would help him more than hurt him in a bid ReidObama for the Democratic nomination…..

“American Rising” and the Dems better listen

There is an awesome video from Buckrush on You Tube.  He is not allowing anyone to embed the video – for obvious reasons.  It’s really good and I wouldn’t want anyone to take that hard work away.

It is called “American Rising: An open letter to Democrat politicians”.  Go here to see it

I do feel I should give you something to view – so here is something a bit more light hearted.  The lyrics are awesome and fit the song nicely.

Hat Tip for both video’s goes to Kristi

The Right and Left Choice

MK put a post up last week which made me think about an article Stu and I posted in August 2007.  The conversation last week touched on how the Catholic Church actually preaches more of Democratic talking points when it comes to social issuesPICT6396 (as long as you remove the whole kill anyone that is a burden to someone else, the removal of anything God in public and the anything goes lifestyle).

All this said, here is part of that post from 2007 that I think addresses this issue nicely:

The leftist side believes in Choice. Just as long as that Choice doesn’t contradict the leftist side. Understand?

I think my favorite leftist example of this is the concept of charity. They want everyone to give until it hurts. What if you want to give to a Crisis Pregnancy Center? Well, then you shouldn’t give. The charity must be okayed by the liberals, so you will be correct in your choice.

Evan Bayh – a Good democrat?

Since we have many democrats that visit us I thought this would be something they may want to know.

Senator Evan Bayh (D-IN) – who I did not and will not vote for…but I digress – has been a name that some have thrown around as possibility for Presidential Candidate.   Like I said, I didn’t vote for Bayh, but if he were to run and win theEvan_Bayh presidency I wouldn’t really be that upset.  (Perhaps we can get him to change his stance on life?)

I just received this email from Bayh’s office:

Usually, politicians use their email newsletters to tout the benefits of government programs they voted to create, fund or continue. Today, I am emailing to tell you about the overstuffed appropriations bills I’ve voted against in 2009, because we can’t afford business as usual during this economic recession.
