Does President Obama trust us? He would if he knew the facts
I’m beginning to think President Obama doesn’t trust the American people.
First, he said that the bankers were immoral, can’t be trusted, and will do anything to steal from the American people.
Then, he said that Doctors and other healthcare professionals are immoral, can’t be trusted, and will do anything to charge too much and perform tests that are unnecessary in order to steal from the American people.
Now, he says that Police Officers are immoral, can’t be trusted and will racially profile at will and arrest and bully people for no reason in order for them to meet their quota and steal from the Illegal Immigrants in America.
Let us also not forget that he said the military was full of uneducated people, the oil industry is evil and most manufacturing is horrible.
Is there any profession that Obama does like? Oh, wait. He does support lawyers and politicians.
How far should the government go?
What do you think? Should the government get involved in a private business that is not a monopoly and has adequate competition just because the politicians don’t like a new policy?
Spirit Airlines will charge as much as $45 each way for a carry-on bag starting Aug. 1. Personal items like purses and laptop computers that fit under the seat will still be free….

Spirit’s new charge for a carry-on is $45 if paid at the gate, and $30 if paid in advance. Spirit said on Tuesday that it reduced its lowest fares by $40 on average, so most customers won’t really pay more to fly. Customers who pay for space in the overhead bin will also get to board the plane earlier…
Spirit CEO Ben Baldanza said having fewer carry-on bags will help empty the plane faster. He said the idea is to get customers to pay for individual things they want, while keeping the base fare low.
Gitmo it go to Limbo
First we had Attorney General Eric Holder being paraphrased in the NY Times as saying:
(Attorney General) Holder said he decided to bring Mohammed and the other four before a civilian court rather than a military commission because of the nature of the undisclosed
evidence against them, because the 9/11 victims were mostly civilians and because the attacks took place on U.S. soil. Institutionally, the Justice Department, where Holder has spent most of his career, has long wanted to reassert the ability of federal courts to handle terrorism cases.
After a lot of criticism we now have Holder saying this:
"No final decision has been made about the forum which Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and his co-defendants will be tried. As I said at the outset, this is a very close call,"….
"New York is not off the table for where they would be tried, but we have to take into considerations that have been raised by local officials and community groups,"…
Communism loves new health care bill
What a better endorsement for our move to socialism than from a communist. I’m sure the democrats must be so proud of such praise.
Cuban revolutionary leader Fidel Castro on Thursday declared passage of American health care reform "a miracle" and a major victory for Obama’s presidency, but couldn’t help chide the United States for taking so long to enact what communist Cuba achieved decades ago.
"We consider health reform to have been an important battle and a success of his (Obama’s) government," Castro wrote in an essay published in state media, adding that it would strengthen the president’s hand against lobbyists and "mercenaries."….
Cuba provides free health care and education to all its citizens, and heavily subsidizes food, housing, utilities and transportation, policies that have earned it global praise. The government has warned that some of those benefits are no longer sustainable given Cuba’s ever-struggling economy, though it has so far not made major changes.
Say Goodbye to Ma & Pa Cafe’s
I don’t know what things are like on the east or west coasts, or even in big cities like Chicago when it comes to small restaurants. I do know that in the south, the mid west and many of the plains states small family run restaurants are a staple. Around here, we call them the Ma & Pa Cafe’s as the generic term for all of these restaurants. You can’t get true southern cooking anymore unless you know where that out of way Ma & Pa place is. Heck, my parents used to go to a Ma & Pa’s whose entryway was in an ally! Ah, but you couldn’t find better food. Most of these cafe’s are in small towns
run by small groups of people frequented by a small community.
What should pro-life democrats do?
How many times do we hear that the democratic party isn’t the party of death? They falsely claim they are the party of choice. Well, once again we can show that they are only for the choice as long as they agree with that choice.
Rep. Bart Stupak, a pro-life Democrat, is chagrined. “They’re ignoring me,” he says, in a phone interview with National Review Online. “That’s their strategy now. The House Democratic leaders think they have the votes to pass the Senate’s health-care bill without us. At this point, there is no doubt that they’ve been able to peel off one or two of my twelve. And even if they don’t have the votes, it’s been made clear to us that they won’t insert our language on the abortion issue.”
Let’s give condoms to rapists
UPDATE: The Smoking Gun was kind enough to post the brochure that is being passed out. They go through the top 10 things to do for safer use. #’s 1-8 talk about the actual use of Heroin – they wait until # 9 to tell users to get help for depression and # 10 to tell users to stop using. Don’t you think those should have been the first 2 if they are serious about helping users? Wouldn’t it be more beneficial to say those things before going into the complete details of how to prepare and shoot up the drug?

Why not? Why do you look at me like that when I say lets give condoms to rapists? It will make it not only safe for the predator but safer for the victim as well. And making illegal activities that harm the body safer is the liberal way isn’t it?
The Bully Government
The Dems are getting desperate to get the Deathcare reform passed. They are so desperate that they are now threatening one of their own:
(Nebraska Senator Ben) Nelson’s demand that taxpayer money not be used to fund abortion has still not been met. According to a Senate aide, the White House is now
threatening to put Nebraska’s Offutt Air Force Base on the BRAC list if Nelson doesn’t fall into line.
Offutt Air Force Base employs some 10,000 military and federal employees in Southeastern Nebraska. As our source put it, this is a “naked effort by Rahm Emanuel and the White House to extort Nelson’s vote.” They are “threatening to close a base vital to national security for what?” asked the Senate staffer.
Offutt’s closure would be a huge problem for the state of Nebraska’s economy along with the fact that it is in the middle of nowhere for a good reason – STRATCOM is there.
Teacher’s, Teacher’s everywhere and no Children Taught
One of the Democratic’s favorite union, the Teachers Union, is causing some problems and they seem to be getting some help from the local governments:
Narrow political interests stand in the way of improving our schools and easing New York taxpayers’ burdens, says Marcus A. Winters, a Senior Fellow with the Manhattan Institute.
States must develop data sets that track the individual performance of students over time and match those students to their teachers. Unfortunately, New York has deliberately refused to take that step, says Winters:
- The state already has a sophisticated system for tracking student progress,
but it doesn’t allow this statewide data set to match students to their teachers.
- No technical or administrative factors prevent the state from doing so, only political obstacles stand in the way.
- The premise underlying the policies favored by the teachers’ unions, which govern so much of the relationship between public schools and teachers, is that all teachers are uniformly effective.
Private vs Public Sector
I’m not sure what to make of this report. What are your thoughts?
A friend sends along the following chart from a J.P. Morgan research report. It examines the prior private sector experience of the cabinet officials since 1900 that one might expect a president to turn to in seeking advice about helping the economy….. 432 cabinet members in all.
When one considers that public sector employment has ranged since the 1950s at between 15 percent and 19 percent of the population, the makeup of the current cabinet—over 90 percent of its prior experience was in the public sector—is remarkable.
