THE EUCHARIST, THE MASS AND SCRIPTURE…PART II
I just hate waiting for that page to reload… ![]()
First I want to revisit the scripture from that last post. This time I’d like to add that last line. We all pretty much agreed that the scripture was speaking of the promise of the future savior…Jesus. The fugitives were either the apostles or believers or both, and they spread the “Word” throughout all of the nations, Glorifying God by proclaiming His Son. Clean vessels could either mean the baptized, or simply, the believers.
Isaiah 66:18-21
He’s not Catholic?
The media said it and I believed them. He did make the ultimate Christian movie, he said his faith was strong and discussed going to “Mass” every week. However, he isn’t a Roman Catholic. Wow. I’m in shock.
Mel Gibson is not a Roman Catholic. In America and in most western cultures when the word Catholic is used most people assume Roman Catholic. I am guilty of this, and I believe that many of the media have made the wrong assumptions as well. Something else that is interesting; his viewpoints do not represent anything within Catholicism. When I first heard he wasn’t a Roman Catholic, I didn’t think anything about it. A Catholic is a Catholic right? We all believe in the major points of the teachings of Christ and follow the laws set forth by the Holy See. Well, not Mel Gibson’s religion.
He was raised a traditionalist Catholic. I thought this meant that his Church did not recognize the second Vatican and simply did things the “old” way. This is true for some traditionalist, but not all. I didn’t know that.
Here is an article that explains things:
In fact, Mel Gibson is in some respects the opposite of a Catholic, since one of the themes of his fake Catholicism is that the Pope isn’t the Pope. Admittedly, Mel’s own theology tends to morph like a shape-shifting lizard, depending on how hung over he is, but in so far as he’s anything he’s a sedevacantist like his father, Hutton Gibson.
Sedevacantists regard the Second Vatican Council as so obviously evil that it must have been the work of Satan, and therefore the Pope who called it and his successors aren’t really Popes. Gibson Senior once reportedly described John Paul II as “Garrulous Karolus the Koran kisser” and has put about the notion that the last real Pope was secretly elected at the 1958 conclave but forced to resign in favour of anti-pope John XIII. But then old man Gibson never met a conspiracy theory he didn’t like; hence his well-documented Holocaust and 9/11 revisionism.
This is par for the course on the loopy pseudo-Catholic Right. You can find creepy historical revisionists in the Society of St Pius X, which sort of recognises Pope Benedict XVI and these days is only semi-schismatic – but the moment you join one of those sects that regards the SSPX as happy-clappy, then you’re instantly presented with your own DIY conspiracy theory kit. (Includes Jews, Masons, homosexuals, Illuminati, Marxists, Nazis: feel free to slot together in any configuration so long as you blame them for 9/11. And remember to stash your rifle under the pew when you attend “Mass”.)
I looked up Sedevacantists. They are recognized under the term traditionalist Catholic however the Holy See does not recognize them as part of the Roman Catholic Church. Sedevacantist is Latin for sede vacante which translates as “while the chair [of Peter] is vacant”.
The author of the article linked above makes an excellent point concerning Sedevacantists:
Not to be rude, but it all sounds rather Protestant to me.
Who was Martin Luther King?
I know many of you hate Glenn Beck, however I feel this is an interview that should be seen. Glenn Beck interviews Alveda King, MLK’s niece, and Stephen Broden. (If you seriously hate Beck, then skip the first video.)
The reason I feel this is so important is because of the subject they discuss. Many people think that the Robbin’ Hood mentality think that is the Christian way. However, redistribution couldn’t be more Anti Christian. They explain it so well in this. They also discuss the divisions of this country and how we got there.
Need an Organ? Don’t worry – China is ready to deliver
Why do we do business with China again? It’s horrible that we provide a repressive communist government with the means to continue their reign of terror on the Chinese people. We do this so we can buy cheap clothing, house hold items, Bric-a-brac’s, and other goodies. Is the nickel and dime you save by buying Chinese goods worth it?
China’s hidden policy of executing prisoners of the forbidden quasi-Buddhist group Falun Gong and harvesting their organs for worldwide sale has been expanded to include Tibetans, "house church" Christians and Muslim Uighurs, human rights activists said Monday…..

"These groups are useless to the state," Mr. Gutmann (the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies) said. "They are toxic, so you can’t release them. But they’re worth a great deal of money in terms of their organs."
Organs from just one person can fetch a total of $100,000 on the worldwide market, he added…..
Saturday Mixer – Real or Hoax
As usual, this is a place for you to decide the topic. Be good, be polite and for Goodness sake – don’t upset the Lemmings!
In case you need a topic to discuss –
Do you think this is real or a hoax?
A window in the home of Horacio Torres of Gilroy, CA seems to show images of crosses of all shapes and sizes no matter what kind of light is behind it. The images move when the light source moves and it always remains the shape of a cross. See news report here and raw video here.

Don’t put ‘God’ in public school banners
Which banners do you think the public schools had a problem with?
A – a 35 to 40 foot string of Tibetan prayer flags with images of Buddha
B – a poster with the lyrics from John Lennon’s song “Imagine” (which starts off, Imagine there’s no Heaven)
C – a poster with Hindu leader Mahatma Gandhi’s “7 Social Sins”
D – a poster of Muslim leader Malcolm X
E – a poster of Buddhist leader Dali Lama
F – a banner with red, white, and blue stripes hung on the wall for twenty-five years and displayed the famous patriotic phrases: “In God We Trust,” “One Nation Under God,” “God Bless America,” and “God Shed His Grace on Thee.”
G – a banner, which had been displayed for seventeen years, contained an excerpt from the Declaration of Independence: “All Men Are Created Equal, They Are Endowed By Their Creator.”
Don’t tell the liberals – Christianity is growing
Shhhhh….don’t tell them. I know it will be another blow to their psyche. First they find out that they are actually a political minority, then the Tea Party movement comes along and blows them away to the point of going into hysterics, and now I’m worried that they will just totally freak when they find this out. If it wasn’t bad enough – it is the traditional faiths that are growing!
The National Council of Churches’ 2010 Yearbook of American & Canadian Churches reports membership gains in the Catholic Church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Assemblies of God, among others.
![]()
The 78th annual edition of the Yearbook also reports a continuing decline in membership of virtually all mainline denominations. And the Southern Baptist Convention, the nation’s second largest denomination and long a reliable generator of church growth, reported a decline in membership for the second year in a row, down 0.24 percent to 16,266,920.
Will the real Racist please stand up
We hear it all the time, don’t we. We preach morality and are vocal about our belief’s; basically, we do the same thing the secularists do but we don’t agree that all lifestyles are okay so this means we are the one’s that are wrong. Therefore we are the racists and they are the “tolerant” ones. But I digress…..![]()
This weekend one of the Catholic schools around here hosted a Christian retreat called “Destination Jesus” or “DJ” as it is known to the teens. I had the opportunity to be a part of DJ for a couple hours by helping out Indianapolis Right to Life with their educational booth. I had a blast. The teens were great and it gave me some renewed hope for the future.

Reading I
Is 62:1-5
For Zion’s sake I will not be silent,
for Jerusalem’s sake I will not be quiet,
until her vindication shines forth like the dawn
and her victory like a burning torch.
Nations shall behold your vindication,
and all the kings your glory;
you shall be called by a new name
pronounced by the mouth of the LORD.
You shall be a glorious crown in the hand of the LORD,
a royal diadem held by your God.
No more shall people call you “Forsaken, “
or your land “Desolate, “
but you shall be called “My Delight, “
and your land “Espoused.”
For the LORD delights in you
and makes your land his spouse.
As a young man marries a virgin,
your Builder shall marry you;
and as a bridegroom rejoices in his bride
so shall your God rejoice in you.
Helmuth James Graf von Moltke, Christianity and Secularism
First they came for the communists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a communist;
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a trade unionist;
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew;
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak out for me.
Helmuth James Graf von Moltke was hanged in Plotzensee prison in 1945. His crime? Not thinking as he was told to. Basically his way of thinking was a violation of Hitler’s agenda so he was jailed and put to death.
There was a resistance to Hitler’s plan for Germany and the majority of these resisters were not only politically opposed to his agenda they were morally opposed. It is when people believe that morality is in question is when we fight with passion and from our hearts. Hitler knew this which is why he tried to squash anything religious.
